There is good news on the horizon for Windsorites who were disappointed with the cancellation of Festival Epicure.

Windsor’s Fork and Cork festival will be a free-entry, all-ages community event. It will take place on the riverfront on the weekend that was previous reserved for Festival Epicure, July 6th to July 8th 2012.

The festival is billed as a culinary event featuring food and beverages from local and regional suppliers, vendors and restaurant establishments.

On the entertainment side of things, the stage will be set all weekend with music from such genres as Motown, Blues and Jazz featuring many local musicians.

The festival is being put on by Protender Inc. This is the same group that hosts Beaverfest.

Volunteer services have been secured from local charity groups, who will receive a donation.

Participation costs will be cut by as much as 50% compared to past food type festivals to attract more vendors.
