The Salvation Army is thanking the citizens of Windsor who contributed to their Christmas Campaign in 2011.

The Salvation Army says that because of the generosity of Windsorites whether it was standing on or contributing to a kettle, donating a toy or food they were able to provide dignity and hope to thousands in Windsor this past year.

In the final days of their Christmas kettle campaign The Salvation Army reach and surpassed its $240,000 goal.

“We are so grateful to the people of Windsor for their generosity and support of our work”, says Perron Goodyear, Public Relations Representative for The Salvation Army. “We are humbled by the confidence shown in us during these difficult economic times”.

Money raised during the Christmas kettle campaign helped provide over 1100 food vouchers and more than 2800 toy bags this past Christmas as well as will support The Salvation Army’s Community & Family Services throughout the year.
