The City of Windsor is looking to upgrade its look when you first enter it. In a report to Council, City administration outlines several options for new signage at our gateways.
City officials are concerned with the look of the city when visitors enter either by the tunnel or along Huron Church Road. Both areas are undergoing building demolition to make room for border improvements, and are not a pleasing site for visitors to first see. Administration has had discussions with the Ministry of Project Management, but they indicated they will not provide signage for these locations. The city will spend $5,000.00 to erect signs to tell visitors theses areas will be transformed.
The city is also going to look at new Welcome to Windsor signs at all our gateways. The city will look at adding Home of the 2009 and 2010 Memorial Cup Champions to the signs at the request of a council question. Discussions will take part with several city departments and a recommendations will come back at budget time to council.
