The Olde Sandwich Towne Festival will be back once again this year, but organizers are looking to take things up a notch.
Festival organizers are looking to take advantage of the new relaxed laws of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario which allows patrons who purchase alcoholic beverages within a licensed establishment to carry or consume those beverages outside within a clearly contained area.
The festival is seeking City Council approval to allow festivals goers to consume alcohol within closed and contained streets in Olde Sandwich. Festivals organizers have hired the Windsor Parade Corporation to manage the festival and are currently in the process of developing a comprehensive operations plan with Windsor Police.
This goes to council for approval on August 29th.
The Olde Sandwich Towne Festival runs this year from September 9th to September 11th.
