Residents of Windsor and Essex County deserve a big round of applause and a pat on the back. On Sunday, May 29th, Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s, Essex-Kent Chapter held its annual, Great Strides™ walk at the Windsor location, and raised more than $69,000 to support the work Cystic Fibrosis Canada!
The resounding success of the Great Strides™ walk was ensured by the incredible support of hundreds of caring participants who stepped out on Sunday to join the cystic fibrosis cause.
“Today Windsor-Essex made a difference in the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis! We are so proud of our volunteers and community supporters without them we couldn’t have done it!” said Chantelle Foreman, Development Coordinator for Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s, Essex-Kent Chapter. “This year we had over 14 teams and other individuals total over 350 people of all ages walk in support of cystic fibrosis research and treatment programs support by Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Each year we are amazed by the fundraising done in support of this event, especially by some of our younger volunteers, it is truly an amazing day!”
The Cystic Fibrosis Canada is grateful to the proud partners of the Great Strides™ walk, including AM 800, Zellers, CAW Local 444, Kin Canada, Tribal Printing, Yeehaus Pools, Modern Settings Photo Booth, WINMAR – Leamington, Caesars Windsor, and Tilbury Auto Mall. This year we had a record number of volunteers attend, which also made the event unique, as we brought it new and exciting activities to make it a great family event.
Every dollar pledged to the Great Strides™ walk is bringing the Cystic Fibrosis Canada one step closer to a cure for cystic fibrosis, a fatal and devastating disease.
