Here is an Easter egg hunt that is anything but traditional.  That’s because it’s for your four legged friends, and is meant to help out a great cause too, as all the  money raised goes to help out Children with Autism.

This egg hunt, which is an annual event is held in seven cities across Ontario every year on Good Friday, features  thousands of plastic eggs are filled with dog treats and hidden over a defined area of a local park.  In Windsor’s case this will be Malden Park.   Each egg also contains a coloured sticker, representing a chance to win one of hundreds of great prizes.

Registrants will receive two egg cartons, giving them the opportunity to collect up to 24 eggs. Participants who have collected donations on NSD’s behalf will be eligible to collect more eggs based on the dollar value of the pledges they received:

  • $50 to 150 raised – one additional egg carton will be provided
  • $151 to 300 raised – two additional egg cartons will be provided
  • $301 to 500 raised – three additional egg cartons will be provided
  • $501 or more raised – four additional egg cartons will be provided

Registration is $20.00 per family and begins at 10:00 am Friday and the hunt starts at 11:00 am.

You can also Register On-Line where you can design a personal fund raising page and include pictures of you and your dog.  Once your page has been set up, you can e-mail your friends and family and invite them to join your team or sponsor your family.  Visit the website and click the “Register Now” tab at the top of this page and follow the instructions.
