The Windsor Spitfires defeated the Peterborough Petes after going into the second period down 2-0. The Spits were able to defeat the Petes after a goal in the second period and five goals in the third at the WFCU Center this afternoon. The final score was 7-2 Spits. Eric Locke completed his hat trick with two goals scored in the third and one in the second. Craig Duininck, Ryan Ellis, Zack Kassian and Kenny Ryan all added a goal each in the explosive third period to bring the final score to 7-2.
This was both the Spits and Petes third game in three days. The Spits beat the Oshawa Generals on Friday (5-2) and lost to the Saginaw Spirit 5-2 on Saturday night on the road. Needless to say both teams were worn down from the three games in three days.
