This week’s City Council agenda is very light with just two items on it, and both come from the City’s Parks dept.

Jackson Park is getting a new trellis. Council will receive a report from the Parks dept, awarding the contract to Sherway Contracting in the amount of $333,314.68. The work includes new trellis, walkways and ramps. This work is part of a greater ISF improvement project to the park which has included new walk ways and lighting in the park.

The city is going to apply for a grant with the Pot in Pot project, under a job creation program. This would see funding for the employment of 23 people for 52 weeks to develop a nursery on lens Avenue with 500 whips, as well as germinating 4,000 seeds for the Malden nursery.

There is just three meetings left in the current term of City Council. The Inaugural Meeting of the new Council is on Monday December 6, 2010 at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts.
