With the nicer weather upon us, many Windsorites have been heading into their backyards and firing up their barbecues. But many of them have been getting a visit from the fire department lately, thanks to their nosey neighbours who are falsely calling the fire department to report illegal “open burning” in their neighbour’s yard.
Of course it is perfectly legal when food is actually being cooked. Regardless, people are still calling the fire department to complain about open burns, many which have been legitimate and legal, and wasting the fire department’s time.
It hasn’t just been happening in Windsor either. This problem appears to be pretty common in Tecumseh too.
