It may be a thirty days off from today, but Windsor’s Labour and Arts Community is coming together to present a month full of events, during the 5th month of this year.
MayWorks Windsor is a labour-focused, cultural festival driven by the creations of artists, students and workers from all over Windsor & Essex County.
MayWorks is billed as a “Festival of International Workers Solidarity, Social Justice and Community Cultural Projects” according to Toronto’s MayWorks.ca, which also makes note that the GTA’s popular festival is now in its twenty-fifth year.
MayWorks Windsor-Essex 2010 is the first of its kind for the area.
Windsor’s MayWorks, during its month-long run, will praise local history — especially that of the manufacturing sector — highlight Old Sandwich Towne and Downtown Windsor’s cultural spirit, and celebrate Windsor’s labour and arts community with rallies, projects, parades and exhibits.
