A closed school in south Windsor may once again see students in the halls.  Oakwood school closed last June, and could be home to a new French-language school come September 2014.

This morning, the Ministry of Education announced that it  has allocated $4.3 million to purchase and open a school in the south end of Windsor.

The new school will be one of three French-language schools in Windsor, the others being École élémentaire L’Envolée and École secondaire Michel-Gratton.

“This new school cements our efforts to offer a quality French language education to rights-holders here, in their community. We are very grateful that the Ministry of Education has supported this wonderful initiative.” said Ronald Marion, Chair, Conseil scolaire Viamonde

A final decision on where the school will go will be made in the coming months.
