Pottery and Palettes brings the joy of creating art to both children and adults.
The “create your own art” studio offers a calming atmosphere where customers can come to enjoy the therapeutic experience of finding their inner-creativity and making art. While the studio specializes in pottery, they also offer workshops and birthday parties that focus on glass fusion artwork and canvas art.
There are a wide variety of pottery pieces to choose from – suitable for both children and adults. Basic plates and mugs can be decorated to each individual’s preferences, whether it be a simple design or extra stylish. Children can choose from a large selection of cartoon characters and animal figurines to paint, including piggy banks, night lights, and jewellery boxes. All materials used are non-toxic and safe for children.
The experienced and friendly staff are present to introduce customers to the make-your-own-pottery process and can help with painting techniques and choosing paint colours. After the piece is painted, staff will glaze and fire it in their on-site kiln. Customers can pick up their completed pieces a week after their initial visit.
Children’s parties can be booked for pottery making, glass fusion, or canvas art. The first 75 minutes of the party is devoted to making their artwork, with 45 minutes at the end of the party for food, cake, and presents in the party room.
Group sessions can also be booked for adults in pottery making, glass fusion, and canvas art. Customers are welcome to come during open hours, but are suggested to call ahead to make sure the facility isn’t already being used by a large group. Group sessions can also be done after hours.
Pottery and Palettes is also happy to bring pottery making to schools or other groups, such as Brownies, Cub Scouts, or hospital patients and their families. Participants will paint their piece at their group’s location, and then the piece will be brought back to the studio to be glazed and fired by the Pottery and Palettes staff.
Many workshops and drop-off programs are also available. You can check their Facebook page for upcoming events.
