Major streetscaping is complete along a stretch of Wyandotte Street West and the finishing touches are now illuminated.
Work crews installed a number of argyle-patterned stick lights in the middle of flowerbeds on the new stretch of road near the University of Windsor.
Streetscaping elements yet to be installed include several sidewalk trees inside raised planters, decorative benches that will match the architectural elements of the University of Windsor, “leaning rails” for people waiting for Transit Windsor in front of the University’s proposed parking garage and Innovation Centre, bike racks and more.
The project was a much-needed makeover for the area that hadn’t seen a visual landscape update in decades.
Streetscape elements will continue on Wyandotte from Sunset to Campbell once ongoing construction on the eastern stretch of roadway is completed later this year.
