Changes are being made again to the visitor policy Windsor Regional Hospital.
The hospital says that a no visitor policy for both sites will be reinstated as of 12:01am on Thursday, December 30tg, 2021.
“This difficult decision is intended as a precaution to keep patients, families and our health care teams safe as transmission rates rise and risk a crisis point for hospitals. High patient volumes caused by both non-COVID acute health issues, COVID-19 infectious and COVID-19 recovered patients still needing acute care along with reduced bed capacity caused by suspect COVID-19 patients is challenging the entire regional health care system and we must do what we can to limit the opportunity for further spread of the COVID-19 virus,” said a news release from the hospital.
Limited exceptions to the no visitors policy are in place at each institution, in particular for palliative/dying patients. You can visit the hospital website for a full list of possible exemptions.
“We recognize the impact of isolation for patients and families during this difficult time and we are doing everything we can to help patients and loved ones stay connected. The hospital supports the use of technology to connect with your loved ones through virtual options, like FaceTime, or telephone calls,” the hospital said.
