200 Cyclists To Come Together For Ride Don’t Hide

Over 200 cyclists from across Windsor-Essex will come together this Sunday to participate in Ride Don’t Hide.  This national event is held in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association

The ride starts in the Children’s Aid Society parking lot located at 1671 Riverside Drive. The 50 km ride starts at 8am and the 10 and 20 km start time is 9am.

Funds raised in Windsor stay local to support the Bereavement program. This unique program benefits over 600 adults and children annually who are dealing with the death of a loved one. This program receives minimal government funding, relying on community support for its accessibility.

The Ride Don’t Hide movement began in 2010 with Michael Schratter, a Canadian teacher living with bipolar disorder who spent almost a year and a half cycling around the world armed with only his bike and knapsack. His dream of empowering those experiencing mental illness touched people all over the world, and his journey has become a national movement that is both raising funds and breaking the stigma around mental illness.
