The Salvation Army in Windsor is launching their annual iconic Christmas Kettle Campaign on Thursday with a local fundraising goal of $200,000.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign brings in much needed funds to help individuals and families with the necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter. The on-going economic uncertainty, inflation and impact from the pandemic is being felt by the most vulnerable in Windsor. The Salvation Army has seen an increase in families with children who need your help more than ever, and this need will continue to grow into the New Year.

“We are grateful for the generosity of the community who contribute to our Christmas Kettle Campaign. We appreciate your continued support; it is because of you, our Army of Givers, that we are able to help the most vulnerable in Windsor by restoring dignity and giving hope throughout the year. Thank you for helping us help others,” says Captain Nyree Bond, Community Ministries Officer.

The iconic Christmas kettles, equipped with TipTap make it more accessible to donate by using a debit or credit card will start appearing in shopping areas such as the Devonshire Mall, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, LCBO, Caesars Windsor and more.

In 2022, The Salvation Army in Windsor provided the most vulnerable in our community with life-changing programs and services, housing supports, life skills training and our high impact case management program, Pathway of Hope. We provided over 14,000 individuals with food security, and over 1,000 children and families with Christmas toys and hampers.

The annual Christmas Kettle Campaign would not be possible without the hundreds of kettle workers who volunteer their time. Individuals, families and businesses wishing to volunteer to ring the bell can contact our kettle hotline at 519-971-5878 or our website at www.WindsorChristmasKettles.ca
