Weight: 5 lbs
Sex: Female
Energy Level: medium to high energy
Adoption Fee: $450.00

Requirements:

-if children in the home, must be respectful of boundaries with dogs; no children under 12 years old in the home

-as a dog with special needs, Millie will require a wheelchair throughout her life for outdoor walks

Pup-sonality:
Millicent aka Millie is a sweet, wiggly little ball of fur and kisses. She is a tenacious puppy with lots of energy who loves to run and play. Millie enjoys playing fetch, chase, and anything with lots of excitement. Millie also loves to be cuddled and is a total lovebug. She has learned some good behaviours through positive reinforcement clicker training, such as sit, touch, and stand, and she will get into position to be picked up. Millie is pen-trained and will stay in her pen with a pee-pad for 6-8 hours if needed. She is still house-training with some accidents, as she is still a growing puppy and she is very good at using pee-pads. Millie enjoys the company of children but should not be picked up by children as she does not like to be grabbed at and really just wants to be on the ground playing like every other dog. She plays well with other dogs but has shown signs of food-guarding when other dogs are around. Millie is a squirmy girl when being picked up and it helps to calm her if she has a toy to keep her busy while being held. Millie should use a wheelchair when going for walks and hot/cold and slippery surfaces should be avoided when she is using her hopping method of transportation, she moves faster than you might think! Millie is a quiet, silly, loving little pup who needs a home that can care for her special needs and help her grow into a loveable, happy dog.

Medical Note: When Millie was rescued, she came to us with malformed front legs and no shoulder joints. She can get herself around on her back legs, but will need a wheelchair for walks and extended outdoor play. Her forever family will need to be prepared for the needs of a dog with mobility issues.
