Two graduates of the St. Clair College Advertising program are off to the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity as a result of winning the Gold medal in the National Advertising Competition, Young Media Category. Jeremy Marcoux (Advertising, 2010) and Stephanie Dalziel (Advertising, 2010) have received a trip to Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. This year’s competition is June 16 to 22, 2013.

Marcoux and Dalziel both work for Starcom Mediavest in Toronto and have been with the company since 2010. Marcoux is a Strategist and Dalziel was recently promoted to Investment Buyer.

“This is one of the highest honours to be able to attend this event and take in all of the world’s greatest advice and insight about the industry we work in”, says Dalziel. “We have entered for the past three years because we enjoy the opportunity to exercise some creative freedom and the experience is especially influential in this early stage of our career”.

Advertising Faculty, Stephen McEachern was thrilled to hear the news especially since a total of five alumni from the Advertising program have achieved this honour to attend the world competition in the past three years alone. “When folks have a passion for something they tend to excel and this is no exception”, says McEachern. “I’m not surprised that these two people won the Nationals because they work extremely hard and have the ability to work with both sides of their brain – think strategically and execute creatively”.
