Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement about the chance for heavy rainfall this evening and overnight.
Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to move across Southwestern Ontario this evening and overnight with heavy downpours associated due to a low pressure system approaching the Lower Great Lakes from the American Midwest. The system is ushering in a warm and very moist airmass according to Environment Canada.
Environment Canada says rainfall amounts of 30mm to 50mm are possible, with local amounts potentially exceeding 50mm. Regions near to Lake Erie are most likely to receive the higher rainfall amounts.
