Wind Mobile is coming to Devonshire Mall.
The fairly new Canadian mobile phone provider which launched service to major Canadian municipalities in 2009 is building their first Windsor retail location in the mall’s newer hallway between Cogeco and Moxie’s.
Wind Mobile also filed for site plan applications with City Hall to build four cell towers in Windsor back in July and is hiring employees.
The company, which also runs popular long-distance provider Yak, paid $442-million in 2008 for a portion of the Canadian wireless spectrum.
Wind mobile boasts 400,000+ subscribers and Windsor’s new cell towers will allow for Wind Mobile to have full coverage in the area as part of a network expansion plan announced back on May 26th.
Wind Mobile is known for their easy-to-understand, highly competitive, low cost, unlimited voice, texting and data plans.
The store is planning to open later this fall.
