The Walkerville Night Market is Windsor’s first outdoor market that lasts until sundown.

The first market took place at the end of May and was a huge success.

Organizer Teanna Lindsay said she was proud of the turnout. “So many people from the community came out to support local businesses this evening. Our producers, our crafters, everyone is doing so wonderfully and it’s nice to see the neighbourhood getting together.”

Lindsay was thrilled at the neighbourly spirit, the live music, kids dancing and neighbours seeing old neighbours for the first time in a long time.

The market features county favourites such as Lee and Maria’s Market and Bradner Farms. Locavores can enjoy brews poured by Willistead staff and can browsed a dozen other vendors from crafts to meat.

“We’ve got a lot of exciting things planned for the next few months,” said Lindsay in May. “Each month we’re going to kinda do something a little bit different, we’re looking at different themes, and we have a lot of ideas we want to incorporate into the event.”

The Walkerville Night Market takes place on the last Friday of each month until the fall. For more information, visit their website.
