After burning to the ground on Easter Monday in 2012, the Dollarama Store on Tecumseh Road near Lauzon will be rebuilt.
The store caught fire around 8pm on Monday April 9th 2012 and burned brightly until well past midnight. Investigators determined that objects on a shelf were lit ablaze. No suspects were ever identified.
The property was cleared of rubble and adjoining businesses were closed for some time while they were renovated.
Plans have been put in motion to eventually rebuild the structure and reopen it as a Dollarama store. A sign was erected last week facing Tecumseh Road which shows a heavily renovated plaza featuring a stone exterior and updated signage.
