COVID-19 Cases Reported At Eight More Windsor Essex Public Schools

The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at eight more public schools in Windsor-Essex and one virtual school.
The board is reporting:
- one case in a staff member at A.V. Graham Public School on December 6th
- one case in a student at D.M. Eagle Public School on December 6th
- one additional case in a student at Dr. David Suzuki Public School on December 6th
- one additional case in a staff member at the Greater Essex County District School Board Virtual Elementary School on December 6th
- one case in a student at John Campbell Public School on December 7th
- one additional case in a student, and one case in a staff member at Leamington District Secondary School on December 8th
- one case in a student at Leagacy Oak Trail Public School on December 6th
- three cases in students at Prince Edward Public School on December 6th
- one additional case in a student at Queen Elizabeth Public School on December 6th
Note: With the public board there is sometimes a delay of several days between the confirmation of a case and the public reporting of that case.
Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.
The board sent letters to the A.V. Graham school community, the D.M. Eagle school community, the David Suzuki school community, the Virtual Elementary School community, the John Campbell school community, the Leamington District school community, the Leagacy Oak Trail school community, the Prince Edward school community, and the Queen Elizabeth school community.
“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.
The board has reported 250 cases to date.
