Helicopter Takes Out Hydro Wire

A helicopter took out a hydro wire this morning in Chatham-Kent.
Police say it happened around 9am while the pilot was spraying a corn field on Mallard Line in Dover Township. The pilot landed the aircraft safely and flew away from the scene moments later. A witness to the incident contacted police.
Police were able to locate the pilot, a 26-year-old Saskatchewan man, employed by Zimmer Air Services in Blenheim.
The pilot was not physically injured, but the helicopter sustained a cracked windshield.
The Ministry of Labour and Transport Canada have been contacted, and the incident is under investigation.
