The tender for construction of a new fire hall in the west end of Windsor was cancelled Friday by City of Windsor administration.
City Solicitor Shelby Askin Hager says the site is “currently being evaluated in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources for species-at-risk considerations. The time necessary to do this will result in a delay in the tendering and construction process and so we have cancelled the tender for the time being to account for that needed time.”
The new fire hall is planned to be built on the corner of Daytona Avenue and Northwood Street.
The City has said the new fire hall must be completed by the end of this year as part of the re-organization Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.
