A nearly $300-million investment by Minth Group, a Canadian owned global leader in the manufacturing of exterior and structural automotive parts was announced on Thursday. The new 379,415 sq. ft. manufacturing plant, representing phase one of a multi-building manufacturing campus will be located at 5000 Cabana Road East on approximately 54 acres of surplus land at the Windsor International Airport.

This new facility is expected to create 1,099 direct jobs, supporting the company’s growing demand for aluminum, steel, and plastic components for electric and hybrid vehicle battery trays, structures, and exterior trim.

As part of this investment, the government of Ontario is providing a loan of up to $40 million through the Invest Ontario Fund.

The City of Windsor is also supporting this local investment through the City’s Community Improvement Plan. This program is designed to attract and retain businesses that align with the City’s long-term economic goals. The Windsor-based operation is set to play a key role in expanding Minth’s presence in North America and contributing to the region’s rapidly growing next-generation vehicle supply chain.

With a workforce of over 25,000 employees distributed across four business units and 77 global plants and offices, Minth Group operations span three continents and 14 countries.

Minth Group has selected local developer, Rosati Construction as the design-builder for their new Windsor manufacturing facility. The project will leverage the Rosati Fast-Track Program, an approach that allows construction to begin while design is still in progress. This method accelerates approvals and shortens project timelines, ensuring efficient delivery.
