The Municipality of Lakeshore began the first round of its smoke testing program along County Road 2 (Old Tecumseh Road) last week, which is part of a broader effort to mitigate the impact of flooding.
Smoke testing uses a white, non-toxic vapour to identify locations where storm water is entering the sanitary sewer system. The process will help the Municipality identify problem areas and prioritize necessary improvements in both public and private systems.
A report on the results will be presented to Council at an upcoming meeting.
