Via Italia will be hosting their 2nd Annual Alley Clean-Up Day this Saturday, and they are looking for volunteers.
Via Italia began the ongoing Alley Safety Initiative that began last year with the addition of six LED alley lights and is expecting the installation of an additional 41 lights in area alleyways by the end of the year. These new LED lights will help improve and extend the safety within the alley network to create conditions where people feel safer and activity becomes more positive and accountable.
“I am thrilled that once again, the neighbourhood will be collectively rolling up our sleeves to beautify the alleys that tie us all together. Between the significant investment the BIA is making in lighting our alleys and the neighbours’ efforts in keeping them clean, we will undoubtedly see crime go down, and resident and business enjoyment go up! I am proud to join everyone on Oct 30th to help make Via Italia an even better place to live, work and play,” said Windsor City Councillor Chris Holt.
The day will start at 10am and go until 2pm, with various alleys throughout the area marked for clean-up. Volunteers are welcome and can email Via Italia at [email protected] for more information.
