A winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Thursday night by Environment Canada.
Snow is expected to reach the Windsor and Sarnia areas near 7:00 pm then spread northeast to reach an Owen Sound to Kitchener to Brantford line around midnight.
At any location, the heaviest snowfall is most likely during the first two or three hours after onset, with lighter snowfall expected after that.
Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible tonight with the bulk of the precipitation likely coming in the first few hours.
Road conditions are expected to rapidly deteriorate once the snow arrives. Untreated roads may suddenly become snow covered and slippery. Motorists should allow for extra time to reach their destination.
