Pressure Drop which opened in 2019 and mixes retail with food and beverage in Ford City has officially opened its new bottle shop.
They first launched the bottle shop last summer when the Ontario Government allowed bars and restaurants to sell alcohol for takeout and delivery to help offset lost sales during the pandemic.
“We let people purchase beer to-go, but it wasn’t really a big part of our business because the law was temporary, and we figured it would expire at the end of the year,” says co-owner, Michael Weber.
But on January 1st, the law became permanent and Weber and his partner, Marina Maffessanti, saw it as an opportunity.
“The concept of buying beer outside of the Beer Store, LCBO, or breweries was unimaginable less than a year ago, but with the new rules, we’re excited to be able to offer the city a unique alternative.”
Weber says they will focus on curating a selection of hard-to-find beers, ciders, and mixed drinks from breweries and distilleries around Ontario.
“When we expanded our beer selection last summer, we were really pleased with how well received it was, so we’ve decided to take that angle and focus on continuing to bring in interesting drinks that can’t be found anywhere else in Windsor,” says Weber.
They will also be offering free local delivery anywhere in Windsor-Essex, seven days a week, which will contribute to keeping people at home.
Pressure Drop is located at 1055 Drouillard Road in Ford City. Along with their selection of clothing and accessories, the online bottle shop can be found at shoppressuredrop.com. Deliveries go out daily at 5pm.
