Popeyes Famous Chicken Sandwich Comes To The Area

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Canada is beginning testing its internet-breaking Chicken Sandwich in our area at both Windsor and the Chatham location.

The sandwich consists of a tender, all-white meat chicken breast fillet. It is marinated in an authentic blend of Louisiana seasonings, then hand-battered and breaded in our all-new buttermilk coating. It is served on a warm and toasted buttery brioche bun with crisp barrel-cured pickles and Classic or Spicy Mayonnaise.

“We use only high-quality chicken that meets our specifications and a recipe that’s rich in Louisiana tradition that dates back to 1972. This recipe is the centrepiece of our famous Chicken Sandwich,” said Rob Manuel, general manager of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Canada.

“We use flour and our unique buttermilk batter to provide the perfect crispy texture that our guests have come to know and love. We also have an amazing buttery brioche bun, tangy mayo and crisp pickles that come together perfectly to create one amazing sandwich that our guests just can’t get enough of.”

The Chicken Sandwich has been incredibly popular in the first Canadian test market in Alberta.

Restaurant officials say that they are prepared to operate safely and have social distancing stickers inside and outside restaurants to help guests maintain an appropriate safe distance from each other.

In the Ontario test market, the Chicken Sandwich (regular or spicy) retails for $5.99.
