Windsor-Tecumseh NDP MPP Percy Hatfield introduced a bill Thursday afternoon in Queens Park regarding the Canadian Club Brand Heritage Center.

It was announced back in February it would close at the end of the year.

Hatfield’s Private Member’s Bill would allow Canadian Club whisky to be sold from the center.

According to Hatfield, that was one of the reasons Mayor Drew Dilkens was given by the owners of the brand for their decision to close the building.

“This Canadian Club Brand Heritage Center is too important to our region’s history to be shuttered from the public” Hatfield says. “So I’ve been working with the Mayor’s office to do what I can to help in the community effort to change the decision to close it down.”
