Sandpoint And West Belle River Beach Closed This Weekend

windsoriteDOTca will be providing weekly beach reports every Friday, all summer long.
We will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, June 17th, 2015-:
Swimming is not recommended at Northwest Point Pelee, Mettawas Beach, Cedar Island, Cedar Beach, and Colchester beaches because bacterial counts exceed 100.
Sandpoint and West Belle River beach are closed this week as bacterial counts exceed 1000.
