This past weekend, employees and retirees from Union Gas worked hard at landscaping the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch on Windsor Avenue.
As part of the Helping Hands in Action program employees, retirees and their families and friends contribute their ‘sweat equity’ to projects that improve, renovate or add tangible value to non-profit and charitable organizations in their communities.
In addition, Union Gas and parent company, Spectra Energy, supports these employee-led projects with community improvement grants of up to $1,000 each to purchase supplies and materials for the completion of the projects.
At the Canadian Mental Health Association, these funds were used to enhance the front appearance of the building by adding a planter box. Volunteers also added flowers, plants and new mulch.
