Updated: Thursday May 15th, 6:14pm.
Propane tanks sold at a local retailer could pose an explosion risk and are being recalled.
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority says that their inspectors have determined that 101 20lb propane cylinders were overfilled and sold to customers from April 15th and May 13th at Canadian Tire located at 8505 Tecumseh Road East. The original warning was for those sold between May 9th ans 13th.
They warn that overfilled propane cylinders could vent and pose an imminent fire and explosion risk if the propane comes into contact with an ignition source.
Anybody who may have purchased an overfilled propane cylinder should contact Canadian Tire at 1-800-387-8803 to have the propane cylinder examined and if required properly disposed of by trained personnel.
