A mural of lockers, created by Kingsville District High School students Minda Harris and Shannon Decaire allows students to write positive messages to one another in the school cafeteria.
They say that the idea was inspired by a bullying prevention presentation at the school in November. Melissa Kinghorn related how students at Riverside Secondary School wrote on her sister’s locker following her death. Writing the notes and messages helped them cope with the tragedy.
Minda and Shannon were inspired to create their mural of three lockers, which is made up of hand-cut puzzle pieces. It was hung in the cafeteria on April 1st and is already adorned with a number of positive messages.
