Windsor Fire & Rescue has recently brought some new equipment thanks to financial support from the Joint Emergency Preparedness Program.
The new equipment will allow the department to assemble a supply that enhances their ability to detect and mitigate local and regional hazardous materials emergencies.
For 2012-2013, Windsor Fire is receiving $34,000 enabling them to purchase a hazmat vehicle, confined space communication systems and draeger colt paks.
“Having access to this equipment allows for a quick response to these types of incidents, which is essential in restoring the community to pre-incident status,” said Chief Bruce Montone.
