Ottawa Street has a completely new look that is set to open soon.
Construction began earlier this year to install new sewers, watermains, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, planters and lamp posts on Ottawa between Windermere and Moy.
The first phase of streetscaping and road reconstruction will be ending shortly after lines are painted on the road and drivers will be able to use the street within weeks.
Ottawa Street’s characteristic “O” sign was carefully restored and repainted.
The removal of Ottawa Street’s characteristic brick rumble-strip crosswalks at intersections also took place as part of this project.
The next phase of work between Moy and Pierre has begun and is scheduled for completion later this fall.
All business remain open with access for pedestrians.
