The driver of a transport truck walked away with only a few bumps after the rig he was driving flipped right near the entrance to the Ambassador Bridge.
Firefighters, Police and EMS were called to Patricia and Union just after 7:30pm and found the rig on its right side. The windshield had smashed out and the driver was walking around surveying the damage. Firefighters determined that only a bit of oil was leaking from the vehicle.
The tractor suffered extensive damage to the tune of approximately $35,000 dollars and the trailer sustained approximately $25,000 dollars damage. There were plastic racks on the trailer and some were damaged.
The 34-year-old old male driver from Windsor was ticketed for careless driving.
Police say that speed is believed to be the mitigating factor for most crashes at this particular location.
The road was opened around 12:30am.
