Walkers braved the cold Saturday night taking part in the Downtown Mission’s Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk.
Thirty-six teams and over 250 people walked either 5km or 10km through the streets of the downtown core. The mission had set a goal of $25,000 and surpassed that raising over $33,000, or 146% of the target.
The Walk, held across Canada, raised more than $1.3 million this year in support of organizations that benefit the hungry, homeless and hurting in cities and communities.
