Windsor International Airport is set to get some upgrades, pending budget approval.
Late last year, the airport applied for and received funding from the Federal Government’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund, for improvements to the terminal. Total improvements planned will cost $450,000 and the funding will cover half, with the City of Windsor required to pick up the other half.
Work planned includes upgrades to the domestic in-bound gate to meet the Ontario Disability Act, replacement of the baggage conveyor, and upgrades to the visitor information kiosk and airport concession stand.
Final approval for the city’s share in the project will be made at the budget meeting next Monday.
