City Council is being asked to choose how to proceed on civic gateway markers at Walker and Provincial — or where traffic first sees Windsor when they exit the 401 at Walker.
Council has $275,377.00 to spend on this project and is being asked to consider the following options:
- simple City of Windsor signs at all four corners which would cost a total of $39,000
- unique elements as part of a public art project
- the purchase of a custom designed illuminated device using “prefabricated public art”
- utilizing the funds elsewhere
The plan, over seven years in the making, may see a conclusion tonight. City administrators have recommended proceeding with one of the public art directions.
