The recent addition of Windsor and Essex County to the Cruise the Coast Motorcycle Map, shows the popularity of motorcycle tourism in Southwestern Ontario is growing.
Windsor Essex along with Oxford Counties are both new to the map, which also showcases Haldimand County, Norfolk County, Elgin County and Chatham-Kent.
“The Ontario’s South Coast Tourism Alliance is very pleased that Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island has joined the regional motorcycle tourism team,” said Clark Hoskin, Manager of Tourism and Economic Development for Norfolk County.
Gordon Orr, CEO, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, couldn’t be happier. “We’re very excited to be partnering with five other Ontario counties this year to bring riders a fantastic new map, as well as hundreds of additional beautiful kilometres of vistas to explore. Looking at the map, there are now multiple destinations all the way from Windsor Essex to Haldimand County – eight routes to choose from, all of varying lengths and experiences, including the monster Cruise the Coast Route that will take riders eight hours to enjoy.”
Windsor Essex recently participated in the 2013 Motorcycle Show in Toronto at which time the map was unveiled. “This is another fine example of stakeholder engagement in action as Windsor Essex is on the map and working within the region collectively with our Cruise the Coast neighbours,” added Orr.
Two innovative design features make it a must-have. The paper is laminated to repel water and add durability, plus it folds up for a perfect pocket fit. So, when riders are perusing the list of attractions, restaurants, places to stay or pinpointing highways.
Maps are available at all three TWEPI locations – Regional Tourism Information Centre on Huron Church Road, kiosk in Caesars Windsor and the Main Office Downtown on Pitt Street West or an electronic version can be downloaded at www.cruisethecoast.ca. Support was received from the Ontario’s Southwest and Westmont Hospitality.
