Crews will begin to take down Cody Hall on the University Campus starting Wednesday.
Built in 1961 in the “mid century modern” style, and designed by renowned Windsor architectural firm Johnson and McWhinnie, Cody Hall had fallen into severe disrepair after being discontinued from an operating dorm facility in 2005.
Jones Group Demolition has been working on the building since mid March to remove asbestos and secure the building for demolition.
The work will be done the use of excavators and not with explosives.
The University says that demolition should take abut four weeks.
