Walker Road from Division to EC Row will be reconstructed this year, ten years after planning for the project concluded in 2002.
Walker Road will feature centre turning lanes on the entire stretch from Division to EC Row and as a result, the current wide shoulders will be reduced and reconstructed with new sidewalks.
Hydro pole relocations started last week so as to accommodate the future wider roadway.
The project was identified for eight million dollars in funding in 2012 as part of an ongoing effort to repair the entire stretch of Walker from Riverside Drive. Riverside Drive to EC Row will be completed in phases in the future.
