The Windsor Youth Centre helps youth between the ages of 16 and 20 who are homeless or who don’t have a safe or reliable place to call home. They serve the basic and immediate needs of homeless youth and youth at risk of homelessness in a safe and friendly atmosphere while engendering a feeling of community which is the basis for positive change and growth.
This Sunday at Villains Beastro — located at 256 Pelissier — a fundraiser is being held to help raise funds to support what the Youth Centre is doing to help homeless and at risk youth in our community.
This fundraiser has a twist though, you get paid to attend!
You can bring your old, broken or unwanted gold and silver items and get cash on the spot. There will also be a 50/50 draw, raffle prizes from several local businesses and musical entertainment by George Bozanich and Clinton Hammond. It runs from 12pm to 5pm.
As well, the Youth Centre has ongoing need for non-perishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen vegetables, toiletries, school supplies, new socks, underwear, winter jackets, hats and gloves.
Donations can be dropped off at Windsor Youth Centre which is located at 1321 Wyandotte Street East, daily, from 5pm to 10pm.
