windsoriteDOTca can officially confirm that University of Windsor Professors have averted a strike as of this writing. There will be NO STRIKE.
Negotiations between University Administration and the Windsor University Faculty Association (WUFA) have proven successful and WUFA and the University have reached a tentative agreement. WUFA has indicated its willingness to continue the collective bargaining process toward a signed and ratified agreement.
Campus operations will remain unchanged and classes will be held as scheduled.
The decision came after a strike deadline of 12:01am. Both WUFA.ca and the University of Windsor’s website crashed from heavy traffic just prior to the deadline.
WUFA President Brian E. Brown said in a statement that he was “happy to report the WUFA Negotiating Team has reached a tentative agreement with the University Administration”.
windsoriteDOTca will monitor a vote on the tentative agreement by WUFA members over the coming days.
