Mayor and Council Expenses, Baseball, and Construction at Council Tonight

City Council will be asked to waive the $1551.75 fee for the use of Father Cullen Stadium and Bernie Soulliere Stadium at Mic Mac Park for the National Junior Baseball Championship to be held on August 18-22, 2011. The City has done this in the past, and event organizers are again asking for the waiver.
Two bridges in South Windsor will be getting reconstructed at Dominion at Grand Marais and Rankin at Grand Marais. Council will be asked to award the tender to Carlington Construction of $805,518.50.
Council will be asked to spend $10,600 for a Provincial Road/Cabana Road Intersection Improvements Drainage Study. This is the next step needed to reconstruct that busy intersection.
A report is available on the communications agenda which outlines what each City Councilor and the Mayor spent in 2010. As well, it will list what members of council were paid. City Councilors made an average of $2,365.21. Three Councilors- Postma, Lewenza and Brister- made $27,757.25.
