LaSalle now has another claim to fame to go alongside Super Bowl champion Luke Willson and actress Danielle Wade.
LaSalle-born Cynthia Loewen won the title of Miss Earth Canada 2014 this past weekend in Montreal.
The 20-year-old, blonde hair, blue eyed beauty graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Assumption high school and studies Biological Sciences and French at the University of Windsor.
Miss Earth, one of four major worldwide beauty pageants, is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness.
The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote specific projects and often address issues concerning the environment and other global issues through school tours, tree planting activities, street campaigns, coastal clean ups, speaking engagements, shopping mall tours, media guesting, environmental fair, storytelling programs, eco-fashion shows, and other environmental activities, according to organizers.
Loewen is a pageant veteran, having finished second runner-up at the 2012 Miss Teen Face of Beauty International pageant and first runner-up at Miss Earth Canada in 2012.
She will now represent Canada in the international Miss Earth competition on November 29th.
