Behold the powerful Express. Once the steam was puffing, there was no stopping this train. The Windsor Express rolled through the Oshawa Power with authority Wednesday night in a 127-93 blowout, at the WFCU Centre.

Chris Commons commanded the scoreboard for Windsor with 31 points. The 6’8” forward also had 7 rebounds, while going 6-6 with his 3-pointers. Other notables for Windsor were Mike Helms (21 points), Kevin Loiselle (16 points, 9 rebounds), Victor Morris (10 points), and Darren Duncan (6 points, 16 assists).

The first half started in Oshawa’s favour, but it did not last. Windsor quickly fired back and shortly after, took the lead early. The offense started to heat things up with an alley-oop slam-dunk that brought the fans Express Nation to its feet. The Express led 59-40 after two quarters.

    Three’s a crowd

Following an impressive dominance in the first half, the Express continued to score big baskets in the second half. Especially 3-point baskets. Out of the 35 points scored in the third quarter, 21 of those were 3-pointers.

Windsor had a strong second half, similar to the first. The Express didn’t sit back for one second. With timely blocks, free throws and 3-point shots, they walked off the court with the victory. The Windsor Express decisively won 127-93 over the Oshawa Power.

Windsor is back on the hardwood next Wednesday, February 13th when they welcome the Montreal Jazz.
